Nitrosomonas, Nitrosospira and Archaea oxidise toxic NH₃ to NO₂⁻. NITROPLEX includes native nitrifying populations for rapid startup.

Nitrospira and Nitrobacter convert NO₂⁻ to NO₃⁻. OC-K trace elements provide Mo, Cu, and Fe cofactors for nitrite oxidoreductase enzymes.

Facultative heterotrophic and aerobic denitrifying strains use nitrate as an electron acceptor — even in oxygenated water. No anaerobic zone needed.

SynergyStart-Up Pair NITROPLEX with OC-K for maximum speed and resilience. Because every strain is pre-adapted to OC-K carbon, dosing OC-K alongside NITROPLEX during start-up delivers zero-lag colonisation, faster biofilter maturation, and lower peak ammonia/nitrite/nitrate. For best results maintain dissolved oxygen > 4 mg/L and pH 7.0–8.5, and pause protein skimmers, UV and ozone for 6 hours after dosing.

Application & Maintenance

Simple, scalable dosing for systems of any size. Maintain DO > 4 mg/L and pH 7.0–8.5. Do not mix with strong oxidisers or disinfectants.
