The BTA TAN-X Chip™ is the flagship biofilter media in our TAN-X range, purpose-built to remove Total Ammonia Nitrogen (TAN), nitrite and nitrate from recirculating aquaculture systems, aquariums and advanced water treatment circuits.

Conventional K1-style media gives biofilm 500 m²/m³ of protected space. TAN-X Chip™ gives it 5,500 m²/m³ — and a geometry that keeps every chip moving.

Conservative rating: 1,450 g TAN per m³ of media per day at 0.25 ppm residual. Optimised reactor design pushes that toward 2,700 g/m³/day — without increasing footprint.
