INVE SEP-ART® Artemia Cysts
INVE SEP-ART® Artemia Cysts
Revolutionize your live feed production with INVE's patented SEP-ART® Artemia Cysts. This technology uses a non-toxic magnetic coating for fast, effortless separation of 100% pure, high-vitality nauplii. Eliminate harsh chemicals, maximize your yield, and improve biosecurity with every hatch.
Tired of the messy, time-consuming, and hazardous process of chemical decapsulation? Frustrated with losing valuable nauplii through inefficient sieving?
INVE's patented SEP-ART® technology is the definitive solution for modern hatcheries. Each cyst is coated with a unique, non-toxic magnetic layer, allowing you to separate hatched nauplii from their shells with unparalleled ease and efficiency using a simple magnetic tool. This innovation makes the traditional, abrasive harvesting methods obsolete.
Core Benefits of SEP-ART® Technology
This system is engineered to deliver significant improvements in three key areas: Efficiency, Quality, and Safety.
-
1. Maximum Yield & Cost-Efficiency
- Complete Separation: Harvest 100% of your hatched nauplii with virtually zero loss, unlike traditional methods where biomass is often damaged or discarded.
- Eliminate Chemical Costs: The process is entirely mechanical, removing the need to purchase, handle, and dispose of hazardous decapsulation chemicals.
- Reduce Labour: The simple and rapid magnetic separation significantly cuts down on the time and effort required for harvesting.
-
2. Superior Nauplii Quality & Vitality
- Gentle Harvesting: The gentle magnetic process avoids the physical damage and stress caused by abrasive sieving, resulting in stronger, more active nauplii.
- Unmatched Purity: Achieve a 100% pure nauplii suspension, free from contaminating unhatched cysts and empty shells.
- Improved Enrichment: Healthier, more vital nauplii demonstrate markedly improved survival and uptake during subsequent enrichment processes.
-
3. Enhanced Biosecurity & Operator Safety
- Prevent Contamination: By ensuring no shells enter the larval tank, you reduce the risk of gut obstruction in your fish or shrimp larvae and lower the potential for introducing bacterial loads (e.g., Vibrio).
- Environmentally Friendly: The process produces no toxic waste, making it a sustainable choice for your operation.
- Safer Workplace: Eliminates operator exposure to the hazardous chemicals and toxic fumes associated with decapsulation.
Choosing Your Grade
Select the option that best fits your operational requirements. Both grades provide all the revolutionary benefits of SEP-ART® technology.
-
AA Grade (>90% Hatch Rate):
The premium choice for maximum output and efficiency. With a guaranteed hatch rate of over 90% (typically ~240,000 nauplii per gram), this grade is ideal for sensitive species, research applications, and commercial operations where performance is critical. -
Standard Grade (>85% Hatch Rate):
An excellent, high-performing option for general hatchery use. Offering a guaranteed hatch rate of over 85%, this grade provides a fantastic balance of cost and output without compromising on the quality and purity of your harvest.
Instructions for Use
The SEP-ART® system simplifies the harvest, not the hatching.
- Hatching: Incubate the SEP-ART® cysts using your standard hatchery protocol for temperature, salinity, and light. The hatching process remains unchanged.
- Concentration: Once hatching is complete, stop aeration. Concentrate the tank contents (nauplii, shells, and unhatched cysts) into a smaller harvesting vessel.
- Separation: Submerge a SEP-ART® magnetic tool (e.g., the INVE HandyMag, sold separately) into the concentrated suspension. The magnetic shells and unhatched cysts will be instantly captured by the magnets.
- Harvest: Withdraw the tool from the vessel. The shells will be removed with it, leaving behind a 100% pure suspension of clean, highly active nauplii. Repeat if necessary.
- Final Rinse: Rinse the pure nauplii as per your standard procedure before feeding or enrichment.
Storage & Handling
- For optimal quality, store unopened cans in a cool, dry environment (ideally below 4°C).
- Once a can is opened, the contents should be used immediately to ensure maximum hatch rate and vitality. Keep the packaging carefully closed when not in use.
Required Equipment:
Please Note: A magnetic separation tool (such as the INVE HandyMag or other Sep-Art harvestijng products) is required for the separation process of Cysts from the Live Artemia Biomass.
